What is Financial News?

Financial news refers to any information that relates to the finance world and can be found through print, broadcast television or on the internet. It often includes updates about the stock market, bond markets and other monetary related events. It can also refer to any company that is in the news for their business practices.

If you are looking for media that talks about long term trends and high level strategy, I would suggest reading the Wall Street Journal and following their Twitter feed. For more cynical global perspectives try Zero Hedge. However, be aware that their content can be quite polarizing and it is often more noise than actual news. Also, many financial media sources focus more on the price movement of groups of stocks rather than individual stocks themselves. This can be distracting and counterproductive to your investing efforts. Follow podcasts like Bogleheads on Investing, Rational Reminder and Animal Spirits instead.
