These innovations, coupled with significant improvements in data management and analytics, are helping to inform mitigation policies and strategies. At the individual level, changes in people’s consumption behavior are very important. Choosing sustainable products and supporting environmentally friendly farming practices can reduce pressure on forests. Reducing the use of fossil fuels through public transportation and renewable energy also helps reduce global warming and slows the frequency of fires. In addition to local measures, international cooperation is urgently needed. International conventions such as the Paris Agreement must be strengthened to encourage countries to commit to reducing emissions and increasing conservation efforts. Cross-border collaboration in research and technology is also critical to effectively fighting forest fires. Global forest fires are a complex challenge that requires a multi-faceted approach.
