Gadget Release – How to Reduce Gadget Addiction

Inspector Gadget is a world-famous cyborg police inspector who fights crime around the globe. His missions focus on thwarting the criminal schemes of the nefarious Dr. Claw and his agents. Most of his investigations take place in the fictional city of Metro City, with some requiring him to travel to foreign locales.

His absent-mindedness and cluelessness cause him to bungle his cases and get himself into danger, but he manages to escape owing to luck or the secret assistance of Brain, the family’s anthropomorphic beagle who shadows him during investigations in disguise and whom Gadget misperceives as one of the M.A.D. Agents he needs to arrest.

Penny (voiced by Mona Marshall in the pilot episode, Cree Summer in Season 1, and Holly Berger in Season 2) is Inspector Gadget’s niece and his most important asset in foiling M.A.D.’s plots. She is a gifted sleuth who often works in secret with Brain to carry out his investigations, while the Inspector and his M.A.D. agents are fully unaware of her involvement.

According to the Centre for Humane Tech, some ways to change gadget usage include allowing users to disable notifications, enabling parental controls on devices, and self-awareness. As the technology industry moves towards more autonomous gadgets, allowing users to control their device usage becomes increasingly important. For this reason, we think the best way to reduce gadget addiction is for device makers and users to work together.
